Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch subscription plans?
Absolutely! You can upgrade your plans at any time or downgrade by the end of the billing period. When upgrading plans you’ll receive a partial-month refund.
What access will I get?
Each user account grants you access to VT Explorer from a single PC (desktop computer or laptop) and one mobile device (Android or iOS phone or tablet), simultaneously. You can always change the pc/mobile when needed.
What does the free trial include?
The free trial gives you full access to all information and functionality provided by the standard license as well as access to coverage depending on the selected subscription plan.
How can I start a free 7-day trial?
Please fill this form or send us an email using our contact form and we will revert with instructions on how to set up your trial.
Difference between subscription plans?
All features are the same to all subscription plans. The only difference is the coverage that each plan grants you access to: Unlimited (Satellite Global), near-shore (Terrestrial Global) and rivers in Europe (Europe Inland).
How often are vessel positions updated?
Terrestrial AIS stations provide real-time vessel position data updated every few seconds within its coverage zone. Satellites provide position data from a few minutes to several hours.
Why can’t I find the vessel I’m looking for?
There can be a number of reasons why you may not see a vessel: vessel sailing in an area with poor or no coverage; switched off vessel’s AIS transponder; weaker AIS signal; crowded out signal while sailing in a busy area.
